The Adolescent: Development, Relationships and Cultureoffers an eclectic, interdisciplinary approach to the study of adolescence, presenting both psychological and sociological viewpoints as well as educational, demographic, and economic data. This text discusses not just one theory on the subject, but many, and outlines the contributions, strengths, and weaknesses of each. The authors also take into consideration current and important topics such as ethnic identity formation, gender issues, the Internet, effects of single-parent families, etc.

I have used this book as a supplemnent to taking a graduate level Adolescent psychology class. I also use this text to cover information not in an introductory or developmenatal psychology text in my classes. It’s current (2011), and has a lot of valuable information to share with undergraduates as most of my students are emerging from adolencents to young adulthood, and this text supplements their reading and understanding of their development, forming relationships, and bringing into context the role of culture. Recommend.

Came in a timely manner and was in excellent condition. Save me a lot of $$! It was the first time I had ever rented a book from and I would do it again in the future for other classes.

Great book, lots of interesting and relevant info for people learning about adolescents. I love the book!
